Nvidia unveils new self-driving car tech, Uber partnership at CES

WATCH: NVIDIA's 2018 CES Press Event! (8PM PT, 11PM EST)

Whatever, it looks like these panels have been ripped straight from the high-end TV production lines and, with more and more 4K HDR screens hitting the market, these big displays are at least more likely to hit the shelves than the standard monitor size 4K HDR panels we've been waiting on since CES a year ago.

NVIDIA is partnering with ASUS, Acer and HP to build these displays - a particularly interesting group of partners, since they don't have experience building big-screen displays. The combination delivers a buttery-smooth gaming experience and your favorite mediastreaming applications - all on a giant screen. Powered by NVIDIA G-SYNC™, it's a whole new way for enthusiast gamers to take on today's top titles. "And now, for BFGDs, we've created a 65" 4K 120Hz G-SYNC HDR panel with all of those features, and a full array direct backlight for the absolute best big-screen PC gaming experience.

Ever wondered why high-performance, low-latency gaming monitors can't be huge? And as always, TVs will be the most popular gadget on show, with hundreds of big-screen TVs vying for space in your gaming den or living room. "The bundled Shield remote and game controller allow for easy navigation and access to all of the world's biggest streaming apps, including Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube and Hulu", Nvidia's post continues.

Finally, the company notes that when it's time to grab some popcorn and watch a movie on BFGDs with the built-in Shield, that device will use G-Sync to ensure that the content being played rolls by at its intended frame rate with no interpolation, be that at 24 Hz, 48 Hz, 23.976 Hz for broadcast media, or practically any other source frame rate.
