John Dickerson Of CBS's 'Face The Nation' Is Set To Replace Charlie Rose

CBS news hosts John Dickerson and Charlie Rose arrive to meet with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in Manhattan New York City U.S

CBS anchor John Dickerson of "Face the Nation" will co-host "CBS This Morning" following the ousting of Charlie Rose over allegations of sexual misconduct, The Huffington Post reports.

He replaces Charlie Rose, one of a slew of highly- paid, powerful men in the world of media and entertainment to lose their jobs as the United States reckons with a sexual harassment watershed.

By naming Dickerson, a veteran Beltway journalist who often provides historical analysis in his coverage, CBS News is sending a signal that its morning program will retain its positioning as a hard-news alternative to the other broadcast networks' offerings in that time slot.

Dickerson is expected to continue his duties as Face the Nation moderator. He will join Gayle King and Norah O'Donnell on the A.M. franchise.

Dickerson will begin Wednesday, and will relocate to be in NY full-time.

Dickerson is relocating to NY from Washington, D.C., full time.

Rhodes continued to praise King and O'Donnell's leadership on CBS This Morning and believed that the trio would continue to deliver CBS' brand of excellent journalism to the audience every day on the morning news program. "I've worked alongside John for nearly 20 years, and this is a great way to continue our mission of putting the news back in the morning". In 2015, he was named host of "Face the Nation", succeeding its legendary host and anchor, Bob Schieffer. Dickerson has been a reporter in Washington since 1995, covering the White House, Congress and economics. CBS THIS MORNING is in its closest competitive position with "Today" in at least three decades and in almost two decades.

The CBS host will be joining co-hosts Norah O'Donnell and Gayle King for the morning show that ranks third in ratings behind ABC's "Good Morning America" and NBC's "Today" show.
