The quote made headlines for appearing to contradict Trump's prior comments on the North Korean leader, who he has frequently derided and mocked as "Little Rocket Man".

It's unclear if President Trump said "I probably have a good relationship with Kim Jong Un" or "I'd probably have a very good relationship with Kim Jong Un".

In the same interview, Trump refused to say if he has spoken with Kim Jong Un.

Trump, it has often been reported, likes to match people to jobs he thinks they look qualified for.

Mr Trump claimed credit on Wednesday for the inter-Korean dialogue, saying North Korea was feeling the pressure of a US-led campaign of sanctions over its nuclear weapons and missile development. "I just don't want to comment". Though Mr Trump once said he would be "honoured" to meet Mr Kim, he has increasingly responded to Pyongyang's threats with bombastic statements of his own.

Washington and Pyongyang are in a standoff over North Korea's missile and nuclear programmes, which could be used to target the U.S. and its allies.

In some cases, the malware would also prompt users to register for premium services - meaning charges would be applied. Users have left reviews on the Google Play Store for some of the apps, with one saying , "Don't install for your kids".

The president's remarks come after North and South Korea this week held their first talks in two years, and the North agreed to participate in the Winter Olympics in the South next month.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the President would consider the idea "at the appropriate time, under the right circumstances".

When the analyst told the president her parents were from Korea, Trump reportedly asked another adviser in the room why the "pretty Korean lady" wasn't negotiating with North Korea.

Next week, the United States and Canada are to host a meeting on the nuclear stand-off with North Korea in Vancouver, bringing together friendly powers from around the world.

Following a Trump's speech to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. journalist April Ryan, of American Urban Radio, accused him of racism, calling out, "Mr. President, are you a racist?"
