Nvidia Bars Use of its Consumer Video Cards in Data Centers – Except for Blockchain

Nvidia claims the cloud gaming service can stream games with a resolution of 1920x1080 at up to 120 Hz, depending on the level of service requested and the constraints of the end user's PC and internet connection.

There will even be a color blind mode for those who find themselves unable to play certain games because its coloring makes it too hard to differentiate different aspects of the game's aesthetics. Its new system, known as Freestyle, allows modifications to be implemented right into the Nvidia software, giving users without the technical know-how, inclination or time, to enjoy the benefits of an overhauled lighting and coloring system that can have such a big impact on how games look. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 390.65 WHQL driver features security updates for Meltdown/Spectre, and adds support for the NVIDIA Freestyle.

When you're given access to GeForce Now, that is - the slight downside is that at the moment, Nvidia says that there's a waiting list to give the beta a go due to popular demand.

"Indeed, Nvidia claims Freestyle is mostly meant to serve as an outlet for creativity, citing examples like "[creating] a retro war-themed filter for your favorite FPS or [enhancing] color and contrast to make a game look more photorealistic" as possible uses for the new feature. Nvidia published a list of games that support the feature; the list includes games such as Call of Duty: WWII, Cuphead, Dota 2 and PUBG among others. Just select games from your personal library of PC titles or purchase new ones from the digital store of your choice, like Steam® and Uplay™ PC.

Another new feature is support for eGPU. Add in a colorblind mode to a game that lacks it? The driver informs users with pop-ups if an eGPU has been connected or disconnected.
