Amazon’s Treasure Truck at CES 2017 in Las Vegas
"Alexa's multiple smart home integrations, Google's partnership with Nest and Apple's HomeKit initiatives will continue to excite consumers of the smart speaker and fuel sales in 2018".
The functions won't work with existing microwaves and ovens, so manufacturers will have to build new smart ovens to support Alexa.
Could Alexa be the next big thing in 2018?
On top of that, support for other cooking devices, such as conventional ovens, should arrive in the near future as well, Mass said. "Customers can ask Alexa to set microwave cook times, modes, power levels, and more instead of using the traditional and often confusing microwave experience".
Amazon and Google lost money on smart speakers while Apple just plain lost
The Hisense TVs already have quite a few features using the company's TV platform, which allows users to access popular apps like Netflix, Amazon Video, YouTube, TikiLIVE and much more.
Amazon and Google are expected to remain the leaders with their Echo and Home devices, but will feel some heat from new entrants to the market.
Amazon's Alexa AI tech is set to be expanded - with a deal in the pipeline for advertising to be pumped direct to users' devices. It'll also spread availability beyond the US-only skills that the new system will ship with now, to other countries. Using the appropriate Alexa Skill, and saying "Alexa, defrost this 2-pound sirloin steak", will start a microwave and punch in the correct settings - with just your voice. Users can leverage these interfaces today for microwaves and for appliances that support preset cooking. A number of other big-name manufactures, including GE Appliances, Kenmore, LG, and Samsung are also planning to add Alexa to their ovens and other appliances.
Additionally, Amazon has also announced that Alexa Fund, the company's venture capital arm, has invested in June Life, makers of the June Oven, a countertop smart oven that makes cooking easier, faster, and tastier. The tools are available from Amazon for developers now, but we'll still have to wait a while to see compatible appliances.
Samsung will launch this smartphone in India on 3rd January
Ahead of the launch, a lot has already been leaked about the smartphones, including a number of alleged renders of the devices. It is known that Apple may achieve this goal by embedding the Touch ID sensor underneath the 2018 iPhone X's display.
