Xiaomi Redmi 5: This specific model comes in two options, the 2 GB RAM and 16 GB onboard flash storage and 3 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard flash storage. Both phones come in Black, Light Blue, Gold and Rose Gold color variants, and will become available for purchase in China starting on December 12. Their major feature is that bezel-less 18:9 display but it differs on both the devices.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch display that supports HD+ resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels along with support for 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone has a 3300 mAH battery, promising a standby time of 12 days.

The Redmi 5 with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage is priced CNY 799 (about RM 494) while the 3GB/32GB variant will go CNY 899 (about RM 556). They also highlight metal unibody builds with rounded corners, fingerprint sensors on the rear, and MIUI 9 software, among other things. Buyers will get the option to choose their Redmi 5 with either 2GB RAM and16GB storage or 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. Meanwhile, the front camera's a 5MP sensor with a front flash that helps users capture selfies in low-light conditions.

The 5.99-inches Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus smartphones will be powered by Snapdragon 625 processor. The Redmi 5 Plus cost is CNY 999 (generally Rs. 9,700) for the 3GB RAM/32GB capacity variation, while the 4GB RAM/64GB capacity variation cost is CNY 1,299 (generally Rs. 12,700). The 4G-enabled phone has a fingerprint scanner on the back, right below the single 12MP primary camera. The device is fuelled by a huge 4000mAh battery which offers up to 2 days of battery life.
