Trump Deutsche Bank records said to be subpoenaed by Mueller
06 December 2017, 12:15 | Terri Saunders
Democrats have said Trump's relationship with the bank is crucial in the Russia investigation
President Donald Trump's lawyer Jay Sekulow denied Tuesday reports that special counsel Robert Mueller subpoenaed Deutsche Bank for records related to the president's financial transactions.
Special counsel Robert Mueller spent $3.2 million over that time.
He confirmed the bank in question was Deutsche Bank.
Mueller issued a subpoena to Germany's largest lender several weeks ago, forcing the bank to submit documents on its relationship with Trump and his family, according to a person briefed on the matter, who asked not to be identified because the action has not been announced.
The $3.2 million spent only covers Mueller's probe, not the various congressional investigations of Russia's meddling in the election.

Time's Person of the Year Finalists
If he wins the coveted spot, President Donald Trump could possibly tweet about wining a second term as Time's Person of the Year . Kim Jong Un , 33, is the North Korean leader who's shaking Americans to their core with the renewed threat of nuclear war .
"I think that's a violation", Mr. Trump told the paper.
Deutsche Bank did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Deutsche debts include a loan exceeding $50 million for the Old Post Office, a historic property he redeveloped in downtown Washington, mortgages worth more than $55 million on a golf course in Florida, and a $25 million-plus loan on a Trump hotel and condominium in Chicago, the disclosure shows.
The heat on the investigation of President Trump's finances has just been cranked up even further. Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty Friday to lying to Federal Bureau of Investigation agents, becoming the fourth associate of the president ensnared by Mueller's probe. In October, the first indictments in his probe were unsealed in court against Trump's former campaign manager Paul Manafort and an aide, Rick Gates.
In May, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller to serve as special counsel for the Justice Department, and to oversee the investigation into "any links and/or coordination between Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump, and any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation".
The special counsel also spent $223,643 on travel, nearly entirely for staffers who temporary relocated to the investigation's headquarters in Washington.
