Vonn added: "I want to represent our country well".

During an interview Wednesday with CNN's Alpine Edge, the Olympic skier said she would decline an invitation to visit President Donald Trump's White House if invited.

Vonn told CNN: 'Well I hope to represent the people of the United States, not the president.

Vonn is slated to compete in her first Games since 2010 in Vancouver, where she gained fame by becoming the first American woman to win gold in the downhill event. However, under the Trump administration, the tradition of top athletes getting a visit with the President has become less consistent, with Steph Curry's refusal of his invitation leading to the Warriors planning a Trump-free visit to D.C. instead.

"I want to represent our country well".
