NBA head coach to step away from team for the immediate future

Hornets head coach Steve Clifford will miss an undetermined amount of time to address his health, the team announced Wednesday. Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford is expected to be away from the team indefinitely as he is dealing with health concerns, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

The associate head coach oversaw the team's recent victory over the Orlando Magic because Clifford was feeling ill. The previous season, the Hornets went just 21-61 under the direction of Mike Dunlap, who lasted just one year with the team.
