Xiaomi Redmi 5 image leaked ahead of launch Slash Leaks
Xiaomi's "Desh ka Smartphone", housing a mammoth battery is all set to be launched on Thursday. Still, there are few minor upgrades to Xiaomi's latest offering. As the name suggests, the Redmi 5A is the successor to the Redmi 4A which itself was launched in India earlier this year.
Redmi 5A 2GB RAM variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 4999 for the first five million units variant. Redmi 5A will be available from 7 December through Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home across India. As far as pricing is concerned Xiaomi seems to have hit the bulls eye once again. Enter Xiaomi's new Redmi 5A. The device comes in two variants: 2GB RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. But now boasts a metallic polycarbonate finish. Also, Redmi 5A and 4A come with microSD card expansion up to 128GB.
The Redmi 5A is a bit different from its Chinese counterpart in that it has the above mentioned 3GB/32GB model and a dedicated microSD card slot instead of a hybrid one. Since it resides under the budget smartphone segment, the Redmi 5A doesn't sport fancy 2.5D glass on its 5-inch LCD display for scratch resistance. The Redmi 5A - just like the Redmi 4A - is surprisingly thin and light-weight, even more so considering that it packs in a fairly respectable battery (3,000 mAh) inside.
Redmi 5A sports a 13 megapixel camera with an aperture rate of f/2.2 and an LED flash. 5A comes with a 5 MP camera module with f/2.2 aperture on the front of the device for selfies. Furthermore, the device runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat 7.0.
Buffalo Wild Wings sold to Arby's in $2.9B deal
Arby's owner Roark Capital finalized a deal Monday to purchase Buffalo Wild Wings , according to reports. It will, however, continue to be operated as an independent brand, the company said.
If you're someone who is looking for a basic smartphone at dirt-cheap prices, but, also someone who loves to flaunt it, the Redmi 4A should get the job done. The MIUI 9 update, in addition to Xiaomi's custom built features, brings back key Android nuggets like split-screen multitasking and Google Assistant, something that was missing in the previous iteration.
Users interested in buying the 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage variant can get the device for Rs 6,999. Just today, Xiaomi announced its new budget handset, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A.
The official Xiaomi account on Weibo posted the above image with some information regarding the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus launch.
