Legendary driver Mario Andretti gives sad Matt Kenseth the highest compliment possible
Pole-sitter and playoff driver Ryan Blaney led the first 10 laps before losing the lead to Elliott. This left only one spot remaining for five drivers, but it was the No. 2 vehicle driver who punched his ticket with some help.
Larson took the lead with a pass of playoff driver Denny Hamlin, who led 40 of the stage's 75 laps.
Matt Kenseth earned a surprising win at the Can-Am 500 and Brad Keselowski grabbed the final spot in the Championship 4 on Sunday. Hamlin ruined Elliott's chances at his first career victory in the Round of 8 opener at Martinsville, putting him into the wall in the final laps two weeks ago.
Hamlin erased all of Keselowski's points lead following the second stage.
Morocco and Tunisia qualify for World Cup 2018
They'll join Nigeria, Egypt and Senegal as the continent's five representatives at next year's tournament in Russian Federation . The Tunisians held on for the draw, though, and it turned out to be a precious point.
Elliott battered Hamlin's bumper with 43 laps to go, likely causing a tire rub to Hamlin's left-front. The Manchester High School graduate would advance with a victory Sunday or by finishing in the points standings ahead of Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott and Jimmie Johnson. That means Keselowski must finish ahead of Hamlin in the race results, and Keselowski finished Stage 2 in 13th.
Also helping Hamlin's cause: He won the race off pit road and will begin the final stage as the leader.
Through Stage 1, Hamlin is on track to punch his ticket to Homestead-Miami Speedway. Kenseth hasn't won in 51 races, so it's nice to see him get one more checkered flag before his career comes to an end after this season.
