All Hail Wonder Woman: Gal Gadot Reportedly Won't Film a Sequel If Brett Ratner Is Involved
It would kill not just any Wonder Woman sequels, but also any other DCEU film she's a part of, like the sequel to Justice League and (according to the latest rumors) the Flash solo movie. But reports are swirling that star Gadot has yet to officially sign her contract for the second Wonder Woman movie because executive producer Brett Ratner is still attached to the film.
The recent rumor about Gadot's involvement seemed to indicate that the actress had not yet committed to the sequel, but the Deadline story suggests otherwise, saying Gadot is locked-in to star and that there haven't been any talks involving Ratner's involvement.
The source also added "she's tough and stands by her principles".
Warner Bros. has moved the film up to November 1, 2019 from its previous date of December 13, 2019.
Ratner helped producer the first Wonder Woman movie as part of a co-financing deal with Warner Bros. through his production company RatPac-Dune Entertainment, which will reap a fair chunk of the profits thanks to the film's success.
Ratner recently came under fire from various women - including X-Men's Ellen Page and Olivia Munn - for sexual harassment, which revealed multiple misconducts. After her initial report was published, Los Angeles Times reporter Amy Kaufman says she has been contacted by 45 more individuals with allegations. "You are at Wonder Woman's mercy". I stand by all the courageous women confronting their fears and speaking out. She said she worked from the heart and not the head and I think that Wonder Woman, Diana Prince, is the same.
Last month, Gal also refused to attend a dinner honouring Brett Ratner, where she was due to present him with an award.
If Warner Bros.is smart, they'll ditch Ratner quicker than the Millennium Falcon making the Kessel Run.
"Gal Gadot'sWonder Woman showed us a strong, capable, poised, curious and compassionate character, and her performance has been universally praised, resonating with audiences everywhere", Matzner said in a statement.
