Anderson Silva flagged for potential doping violation pulled from UFC Fight Night 122
The USADA's statement reads, "USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case involving Dawson". This is also not the first time that Silva vs. Gastelum has been canceled.
The results come from an out-of-competition sample collected on October 26, 2017.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency could take Silva's previous drug-test failure into account when deciding a suitable punishment for the Brazilian, despite the fact it took place before they partnered up with the UFC.
Anderson Silva - the former UFC Middleweight Champion and arguably one of MMA's GOAT's - has failed another drug test.
During his disciplinary hearing with the NSAC, Silva maintained his innocence and said the failed tests were the result of an unmarked sexual-enhancement drug he received from Thailand.
The fight was declared a no contest and Silva was suspended one year.
The bout was set to be the main event of UFC Fight Night 122 on November 25.
Silva has been tested a total of 12 times this year alone according to the USADA athlete testing base which was updated on November 8.
But he's won just once in the last five years - a points win over Derek Brunson in February - and would face a minimum two-year ban under the UFC's anti-doping policy if Usada chooses to treat him as a second-time offender, effectively ending his career.
