Today, he will begin serving a six-year suspension without pay for violating the league's personal conduct policy following a year-long investigation into domestic violence allegations. A temporary stay was issued on November 3 as the NFLPA prepared this case, which allowed Elliott to play in Dallas' Week 9 victory over the Chiefs.
Ezekiel Elliott's six-game suspension is back on after the Second Circuit Court denied his request for an injunction on Thursday. That means Elliott's suspension is active and barring any last minute legal wrangling, he will not play on Sunday in Atlanta. Now Elliott seeks a longer-lasting injunction from a three-judge panel that will hear his case Thursday in NY.
With Ezekiel Elliott presumably out, the Dallas Cowboys will turn to running backs Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden and Rod Smith to carry the load and replace Elliott's heavy production. He is eligible to return to the Cowboys the week before the team's Christmas Eve showdown with the Seahawks in Arlington.
The Cowboys play at the Falcons on Sunday.
