Crystal Palace vs Chelsea injury news: Palace without four stars, two Blues aces listed as 'major doubts'

N'Golo Kante to miss six Chelsea games

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is facing almost a month on the sidelines with a muscular injury he picked up during the worldwide break, his manager Antonio Conte said ahead of Saturday's Premier League trip to Crystal Palace. We don't have another player with the same characteristics. We must have patience with his calf problem.

"In Kante's situation you have to have another scan to understand the situation very well", Conte said.

"For sure it's a muscular problem, a hamstring", Conte told a news conference on Friday. I hope to have [Morata] very soon, for the game against Roma.

He won't recover in time for tomorrow's match at Selhurst Park but he could return for Chelsea's Champions League match against Roma on Wednesday.

"Kante is going to do another scan next week to check if his situation is improving".

Conte will call upon Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayoko when Chelsea visit Palace on Saturday [14 October].

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has suggested that he will only use David Luiz in midfield as a last resort.

Injuries mean that Chelsea are also without the likes of Danny Drinkwater, who joined in the summer from Leicester. However, the duo Conte admits he will have to rotate, meaning 19-year-old Scott and 17-year-old Ampadu could be given a chance during Kante's absence.

"When I chose to utilise him in midfield against Tottenham we played with three central midfielders".

"But I don't want to change a lot, but I also want to give an opportunity to young players like Ampadu and Scott".
