Looking for an Uber? Book it through Snapchat's 'context cards'

Extending the video length may have taken away the unique essence of Snapchat
Millions of Snapchat users, particularly in the USA and Europe region, were left outraged after the addictive photo-sharing app crashed briefly on Monday night. The feature also is integrated with car-hailing services Uber and Lyft and reservation-booking services OpenTable, Resy and Bookatable.
Select Snaps now show a "more" button that links users to information related to the locations pictured, including opening hours or contact details.
For now, only posts that use Geofilters or appear in Snap Map or Search will get the additional functionality.
The Context Cards update will allow users to see information about the Snap they are viewing, powered by content from TripAdvisor, Foursquare, Michelin and goop.
In a new post to the Snapchat blog, the company outlines just what it is that these Context Cards do.
The Context Cards will vary by type of venue and the information available about each location.
But if anyone watching those snaps was interested in visiting those places, they'd likely have to tap a separate app, such as Google or Yelp, for more information.
Not all of the services and information will display at once for every location, but Snap says the idea is to create a personalized feed that's relevant to what each user might need at the time.
The first Context Card that appears will contain basic information like the name of the place, category of venue (i.e. department store or restaurant), and partner's rating, for example.
By introducing more search features, Snapchat hopes to give its users more reason to stay on the app while also enabling more opportunities for ads - though that's not the case with Context Cards as of now.
More than 60% of their users spend on average 30 minutes a day on the app.
