A Metropolitan Police spokesman told MailOnline'Police were called at 1421 on Saturday 7 October to reports of a collision in Exhibition Road South Kensington

On October 7, a vehicle mounted the pavement and struck pedestrians outside the Natural History Museum leaving 11 people injured.

The man was detained after British media reported a auto had veered onto the pavement outside the museum, a popular tourist attraction in the South Kensington area of west London.

The Metropolitan Police said a number of pedestrians had been injured in a "collision".
