Meet the Google Home Mini, a $49 Amazon Echo Dot Alternative
If you love Google Assistant and its ecosystem, this is now the easiest, cheapest way to integrate it into you life. The Home Max is the exact opposite of the Google Home Mini - a larger variant of the regular Google Home which focuses on loud music.
If the GoogleHome Mini is meant to be a competitor to Amazon's Echo Dot, then the Google Home Max was most certainly designed for taking on the likes of Sonos Play:5 and the upcoming Apple HomePod. The smaller version of the original speaker has been built to make scheduling updates, getting news, and instructing for other connected devices more seamless.
To begin with, the Google Home Mini is available in color choices of Chalk, Charcoal, and Coral.
It is created to be used on its side, but thanks to some helpful magnets it can be stood up too. Two 4.5-inch woofers surrounded by several tweeters are hidden beneath the fabric grille.
The Home Max has Cast built-in, along with Bluetooth and a standard 3.5mm jack. One phrase will basically be able to turn on the lights, roll up a window shade, read the news for you and even start boiling water.
The Home Max speaker especially boosts the low-frequency ranges and features "Smart Sound", which lets the speaker dynamically adapt to the user and the surrounding in which it is placed so as to tune the volume, EQ etc of the speaker. They are calling this feature "Smart Sound". The new AI software automatically adjusts the sound-levels depending on the environment. In fact, Google claims that it adjusts nearly immediately so users can move in anywhere they please. Users can simply tap on the earbud to trigger the Google Assistant or change the track. It will go on sale for $399 in December. Buyers will also a free subscription to the company's YouTube Red service for a year.
Pre-orders for the Home Max open on November 13.
The products are being sold and marketed under the tag Made By Google.
