The Arsenal pair, whose deals at the Emirates expire in the summer, are both yet to sign new contracts with the club and as a result could leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Arsene Wenger has rustled the Arsenal fanbase yet again after revealing that both Sanchez and Ozil could leave in January.

Speaking ahead of this weekend's clash against Watford, Wenger said: "In our situation, we have envisaged every solution".

Sanchez has been linked with a number of major clubs, among them Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

'I always said the fact that we didn't find an agreement past year doesn't mean the player will necessarily leave.

When asked if their was a deadline to agreeing a contract extension, Wenger said via Sky Sports: "No, not at the moment". "At the present time there is no deal close for me to announce".

Good for Tottenham: Star duo closing in on injury return
Starsport can reveal Rose has set his heart on leaving Tottenham for Old Trafford ahead of the World Cup in Russian Federation . He has not played since January due to a knee injury that required surgery but is on course to return to training next week.

The 25-year-old Germany global limped off with a first-half injury as the World Cup holders completed a 100% record in qualifying for Russian Federation 2018 by thrashing Azerbaijan 5-1 on Sunday.

"That's my understanding, yes", said Wenger.

Sanchez was part of the Chile team that were eliminated from the World Cup on Tuesday - in part due to an error for Colombia by his Arsenal team-mate David Ospina - and will be assessed for both his mental and physical state when he returns to England this afternoon.

"I didn't want to speak to him much [at full time] because I know how tough it is and also because I didn't want for people to interpret things in a way that would have put my professionalism in doubt".

"I will be happy for him wherever he goes".

Arsenal fans already upset at Sanchez failing to commit himself to the club are now even more frustrated following Chile's World Cup exit.
