"Did you know baby rattlesnakes are more risky than adult ones?" the young mutants are told as they discover that they are being kept at the facility due to their unsafe powers.
Taking place in a mental asylum where young mutants are being experimented on, there isn't much story to go on here but this definitely is an interesting direction to go.
From director Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), New Mutants is shaping out to be a very different kind of super-hero movie - something that seems to be somewhat in the same vein as A Cure for Wellness or FX's Legion. I'm hoping this works out. Rounding out the group of young mutants are Stranger Things'Charlie Heaton as Cannonball, 13 Reasons Why'sHenry Zaga as Sunspot, and The Originals'Blu Hunt as Mirage.
The movie is sort of like a horror film.
So, New Mutants definitely connects to the other film, and we'll be seeing some more popular mutants in future films. After filming wrapped on The New Mutants, Fox chairman and CEO Stacey Snider compared the setting and tone of the film as "Breakfast Club detention/Cuckoo's Nest institutional setting", and described the film as "a haunted-house movie with a bunch of hormonal teenagers". For those who are already excited to get a first look at Fox's next X-Men spinoff, the wait won't be long now until the teaser trailer hits the web tomorrow.

Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past.
You can check out the trailer in the video above. The scenes in the trailer looked extremely well shot and there is no doubt in saying that Marvel has yet again nailed the art of making a great Superhero Action movie.
"...a darker and more surreal and impressionistic X-Men series than we'd ever seen before".
With New Mutants aiming for an April 2018 release date, it's perhaps a little early for the first teaser to debut, but the property isn't as well known as the main X-Men team so Fox is no doubt hoping to build hype as early as possible.
