Why Are People Talking About Chelsea Manning And Harvard?

Chelsea Manning was named a visiting fellow at Harvard University on Wednesday

Former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell took a stand against Harvard University on Thursday, resigning from his senior fellow position in protest of the school's hiring of convicted spy Chelsea Manning.

Elmendorf said the invitation to Manning consisted exclusively of spending a day at the school to meet with students and give remarks at a forum.

Douglas Elmendorf, dean of Harvard Kennedy School, said in a statement Friday the institution is "withdrawing the invitation to her to serve as a Visiting Fellow", calling the initial decision to grant her that decision a "mistake" for which he takes responsibility.

But as Manning and many others are now pointing out, Harvard's decision to disinvite her as a fellow (she's still invited to speak, Elmendorf says, but not under that title) smacks as mighty hypocritical given that the school continues to welcome former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and former White House press secretary Sean Spicer in the same group.

"Manning is opposed to everything the fearless men and women I work with represent", Pompeo said.

"It has everything to do with her identity as a traitor to the United States of America and my loyalty to the officers of the CIA", Pompeo said.

In response to Harvard's cancellation of her fellowship invitation, Manning posted a series of tweets. Manning, who planned on speaking on LGBTQ rights in the military, would have been the first transgender fellow at the Kennedy School of Government.

Ms. Manning said on Twitter that she was "honoured to be 1st disinvited trans woman visiting Harvard fellow".

Jose Mourinho Is Furious With Paul Pogba Over Hamstring Injury
Mourinho and his staff feel Pogba ignored medical opinion over his long-lasting hamstring injury, as per reports from the Sun . It was reported by Mirror that the Red Devils boss was "furious" with the young midfielder for ignoring club advice.

"We will try to reschedule it as soon as we can, but the Central Intelligence Agency director, is obviously, in charge of his schedule", Elmendorf said. Harvard University erred by sending Manning a visiting fellow offer: It was an offer based on the virtue signaling that comes along with inviting a high-profile transgender person.

Manning was named a visiting fellow on September 13, alongside Sean Spicer, former press secretary for president Donald Trump, and others.

On Friday, Elmendorf released a statement in which he apologized to Manning as well as to those who those who objected to her invitation, arguing that he had made a "mistake" by failing to appreciate that the title of visiting fellow was seen as an "honorific".

Pompeo and Morell weren't the only ones who needed shelter from Manning's "treasonous" ideas.

As a military intelligence analyst, Manning leaked thousands of documents classified on the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as cables from the State Department to the WikiLeaks portal in 2010, which was a setback for U.S. diplomacy.

"Of all the veterans who honorably served.Harvard hires Chelsea Manning who was convicted of espionage".

Harvard's invitation of Manning, who was released from military prison this year after serving seven years for leaking classified military documents to WikiLeaks, had prompted swift criticism. However, during the 2016 USA presidential elections, he cited WikiLeaks to attack Hillary Clinton.
