World welcomes Qatar’s position on siege

Both leaders emphasises the importance of solving the crisis in the Gulf diplomatically and vowed to further bolster relations between Ankara and Doha, said Turkish presidential sources, cited by the state-run Anadolu news agency.

Pearl went on to recount how his late son, Daniel, a senior Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and then murdered by Islamist terrorists in Pakistan in 2002, had interviewed the Muslim Brotherhood's top cleric, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian living in exile in Qatar, one month after 9/11 happened.

He added that such contradictions highlight the dual speech, one for internal consumption and a second for the worldwide public to mask the real causes of the crisis which is supporting terrorism and financing terrorist organizations. Several fugitive Hamas terrorists live in Qatar, which the terrorist group uses as a base to raise funds and even plan terror attacks.

Pearl's protest follows Tuesday's announcement by Morton Klein, the president of the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), that he had turned down an invitation to meet with Qatari leaders.

The statement was released in response to a speech made by Qatar's representative, where he called it as the "blockade by boycotting countries", at a clustered interactive dialogue held by the Human Rights Council as part of its 36th regular session in Geneva on Thursday. Muzin is known for his strong ties with Republican Senator Ted Cruz. "They need to change the format of Al Jazeera, their TV station, which incites against Israel".

Qatar's campaign is led by Nick Muzin, a public relations adviser whom Doha recently hired to improve its image in Washington and within the Jewish community.

He defended the campaign, saying engagement with Qatar can only be in the best interests of the United States and the Jewish community.

On June 5, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt severed diplomatic ties with Qatar and imposed a boycott on it, accusing the tiny gas-rich country of supporting terrorism and seeking closer ties with Iran, a Saudi rival.
