Concerned with Sam Bradford's knee, Vikings promote practice squad QB

However, he's now listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh and, despite the fact that he was on the team charter, the Vikings found it necessary to call up Kyle Sloter from the practice squad, according to a report from Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. While the common belief is that Bradford will still play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, his knee injury still reportedly required an MRI earlier this week.

"We anticipate that he's going to play, " Zimmer said.

The Minnesota Vikings kicked off their season like a house on fire, beating the New Orleans Saints in Week 1, 29-19.

Bradford is officially listed as questionable for Week 2, but appears to be on track to start. Linebacker Emmanuel Lamur returned to practice as a full participant Friday after being limited Wednesday and Thursday.

In the Vikings win over the Saints, Bradford looked great as he completed 27 of his 32 total pass attempts in the contest for 346 yards and three touchdowns.

"I'm not concerned with Sam", Vikings wide receiver Jarius Wright said. "He's a tough guy". He suffered a torn ACL in the same knee in the preseason in 2014 and missed the entire season.

If Bradford's knee doesn't allow him to play on Sunday, then the Vikings will have to go with veteran backup Case Keenum.

Bradford is coming off perhaps the best game of his eight-year National Football League career.

Unfortunately, anyone who has followed this franchise for any amount of time knows that when things seem nearly too good to be true that a cold slap of reality is right around the corner.
