Speculation over the Brazilian's future at Anfield has been rife for weeks, with Barca reportedly seeing two bids - the second in the region of £90million - rejected by the Premier League club.

Fenway Sports Group, which owns the club, released a statement shortly thereafter saying that no offers for Coutinho would be considered despite his request to leave. The club rejected the request.

Sky Sports News understands Liverpool have so far rejected two bids from Barcelona for the Brazil worldwide, with the latest offer worth up to £90.4m.

On Twitter, Joyce said: "Philippe Coutinho has asked to leave Liverpool".

They said that they want to offer clarity as regards their position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho, ' read a statement on the club's official website.
