New York's Jacob deGrom pitched brilliantly until leaving in the seventh inning due to a contusion on his right triceps after being hit on a line drive by Nick Williams, and the Mets homered four times in a 10-0 rout of the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night. He finished the night 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored and also drew a pair of walks. He couldn't handle Odubel Herrera's hard chopper right at him in the sixth, allowing a run to score, but was solid otherwise. Wilmer Flores, Brandon Nimmo and Dominic Smith added base hits of their own in the winning effort for the Mets.

Jorge Alfaro went 1-5 with three strikeouts.

For the season, Velasquez now has a 5.13 ERA. This will be Matz's first career start against Philadelphia.

The Mets have won seven of their first 10 meetings with the Phillies this season and are 33-15 against them since the start of the 2015 season.

Yoenis Cespedes hit his 13th homer of the season in the third, a three-run shot that gave the Mets a brief 4-3 lead.

NY is 1-6 in Matz's last 7 starts and 8-1 in their last 9 road games against a team with a losing home record while the under is 6-1 in Matz's last 7 division starts. His last outing was the worst of that stretch as he surrendered eight runs (six earned) in just 2 2/3 innings against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. NY is 39-14 in the last 53 meetings between these two teams in Philadelphia. Despite sporting a 4-2 road record, the 27-year-old Centenary product has been much less effective at home (3.51 ERA, .229 batting average against) than outside of NY (5.26, .309). Nola has been probably the best arm in the Phillies' rotation, and has given up two runs or less in each of his last nine starts.

Amed Rosario had his first multi-hit game of his young major-league career, two singles and his first major league home run.
