The design of the iPhone 8 – amongst other details – was unearthed in the Home Pod code

Various leaks, including the HomePod firmware, have confirmed that the iPhone 8 would have an all-front display with no bezels.

When the iPhone 7 was released, most of us were a bit underwhelmed, to be honest. The inclusion of a glass back should lend a more premium feel to the new handset, and you just can't beat an edge-to-edge screen. Three models which go by the name iPhone 8, iPhone 7s, and iPhone 7s plus.

Another developer Guilherme Rambo has discovered the reference to Pearl ID, which is the company's codename for the facial recognition system, in the code that suggests users will be able to store multiple faces and the feature will support Apple Pay, as pointed out in a report by The Verge. For example, perhaps when we get a chance to do an iPhone 8 vs iPhone 7S Plus camera comparison we will find the iPhone 8 is best-suited for AR while the iPhone 7S Plus has its own strengths like portraits. It's about time we got a buttonless display on an iPhone, but what's most exciting is the iPhone 8's wireless charging capability. While Apple has been said to ditch the plans for an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and separately ditch a fingerprint scanner completely, it has reportedly not finalised the design for the rear end of the iPhone 8 till now.

The question remains is if Apple makes the notch visible.

One last push for exhausted Mo Farah in final track race bid
At last year's Olympics - where she finished eighth - she had an anxious wait to find out about her qualification. She said: 'The hurdles have been wide open this year. "I knew the times didn't seem to be too fast out there".

Although nothing is certain, I expect the iPhone 8 to have a more powerful chip compared to the iPhone 7's. Let's not forget the other great devices expected this fall including the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2, LG V30, and the Nokia 8.

The screen of the iPhone 8 should also be better than the iPhone 7's. "We are still awaiting Apple's final decision before shipping parts".

Verdict: Draw, for now.

If you're after a phone in the next few months, I'd recommend waiting for an iPhone 8. Apple might have replaced it with a virtual home button called the "Home Indicator". Well, no iPhone is "cheap", but the upcoming model will cost much more than other models.
