Ryan Phillippe Hospitalized, Shares Photo of His Injury

Ryan Phillippe is now in the hospital after severely injuring his leg over the weekend and he's opening up about how it happened. On Sunday night, the Shooter star took to social media to upload a photo from the hospital. The picture shows him with a bandage on his leg and a swollen foot. Though the 42-year-old gives the camera a thumbs up, his face gives away his feelings of unease.

On Sunday, Ryan Phillippe shared a concerning Instagram post with his followers.

No word on what caused his injury, but he's been busy filming Shooter, his U.S. network series, this summer.

During an interview with PopSugar, the two-time SAG award victor spoke out about the physical demands on Shooter.

Phillippe typically performs his own stunts in his physically strenuous Shooter role, but as he explained on Twitter, he wasn't on set when he injured his leg.

"We kind of really push it to the limits".

Speaking about Shooter with the New York Times previous year, Phillippe said he "wanted (the audience) to see me get a little beat up". It's exhausting. I've got bruises. "But I was approaching it like a football season, and I'd heal up after we finished". Ryan recently dished on returning to the genre for the film.
