CM KCR calls for stringent action against drug traffickers

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has directed the officials concerned to initiate stringent action against those found guilty of drug supply and adulteration in the State so that they can act as deterrent for those indulging in the activity.

According to sources, during the meeting, Akun Sabharwal gave details on the progress of the ongoing investigation involving Tollywood celebrities in the drug case. "In this shady business, don't leave any one". Many schools and colleges have been issued notices on this and the investigation is on now.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the drugs racket, has served notices to 12 personalities from Telugu film industry based on the information provided by the accused already arrested in the case. "If it is being supplied from the neighbouring states, control it".

"But don't be complacent with the good work you have done so far, go ahead with much more zeal and work till the end". We have to ensure that the image of Hyderabad does not take a beating.

The Chief Minister said his government is giving complete freedom to the officials on this issue. The government's aim is very clear. "Once the guilty are arrested, don't think that the matter is over..."

The DGP informed the chief minister on the measures undertaken to control adulteration of food items and spurious seeds.

"Drugs supply, adulteration of food items and spurious seeds are organised crimes". Prepare a list of such corrupt officials in the state and keep a close vigil on them.

"Some corrupt officials is the main reason for the supply of drugs and illicit seeds and the ACB should act more rigorously. File cases and punish those offering bribes as well as those accepting it", he added.
