Bayern confirm AC Milan interest in Renato Sanches, silence Alexis Sanchez talk

17 July 2017, 02:15 | Andy Ferguson

GETTYRenato Sanches could join AC Milan on loan with the club in talks with Bayern Munich

Renato Sanches

United made their desire to sign Sanches last summer public, and there has been some talk that they could try again for him this summer, though he doesn't now appear to be a priority in midfield.

The Italian heavyweights want to create a competitive side that will challenge Juventus for major honours next year and in order to do that, they want to add more quality players to their ranks.

Last season at Bayern, Sanches only made six Bundesliga starts for Munich, he only played in 17 league matches in total, while he failed to contribute a single goal or assist.

Speaking recently, Bayern's chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge admitted Sanches could be loaned out this summer.

He helped Portugal win Euro 2016 and was named the young player of the tournament.

AC MILAN are reportedly in talks to sign Bayern Munich star Renato Sanches.

According to the Record newspaper in Portugal, Milan want to take the teenager on a two-year loan deal with an option to make the deal permanent for a fee of €47 million.

"I can confirm that AC Milan has an interest in Renato Sanches", he told reporters prior to flying to Asia for Bayern's pre-season tour.

I have the impression that AC Milan are not ready to meet our economic demands, and as long as (that is the case) nothing will be done. Several top clubs have shown an interest in signing the Portuguese midfielder this summer, so he is not short of options.
