As the world marks World Emoji Day, Apple has revealed its newest ones that focus on the weird and wonderful.

To help celebrate World Emoji Day, Apple's showing off some of the new emoji that will launch alongside iOS 11.

"Bearded person", "breastfeeding", "sandwich" and "coconut" were among the new illustrations.

Those emoji will not be available for Apple products until Apple actually adds support for Unicode 10, which includes designing its own artwork for each emoji.

In addition, to mark World Emoji Day, Apple has changed a number of titles of its films in iMovies to emoji-only titles. Remember, it's always left up to manufacturers to create and release designs for Unicode emoji.

Apple says that the emoji will be coming to iOS, macOS and watchOS later in the year.

The new slate of small pictures and icons you use in messaging will also include more animals such as a dinosaur and zebra and mythical creatures like zombies and elves. The Exploding Head smiley is an instant favorite.
