When asked whether the girl's evacuation from the ride had followed protocol, Wood did not specify but said that all rides have a "standard evacuation plan".
"Because if she was going to fall you know I wanted to be there to at least do whatever I could to try to save this girl", Winchell said. They didn't stay long, but said she was in some pain, but good spirits overall.
The girl was treated on the spot and then rushed to a nearby hospital in a helicopter after the incident. The park said in a statement that the safety of guests is a top priority.
They're hopeful the public will leave the young girl and her family alone to heal, they said.
