Warriors taking on Spurs

The Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry signals a 3-point shot from the bench against the San Antonio Spurs in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals at Oracle Arena on Tuesday

"Not at all", Curry answered, a statement after his earlier statement of 29 points, seven assists and seven rebounds as the entire Warriors offense ran amok with Kawhi Leonard missing from the San Antonio defense.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich with guard Dejounte Murray during game 2 of the National Basketball Association western conference finals against Golden State.

With the Spurs, this is magnified even further after they lost Game 2 Tuesday night by the score of 136-100 in an absolutely humiliating effort.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Steve Kerr provided a strong message, just not from his usual spot on the bench: Play with urgency from the opening tip this time.

With superstar Kawhi Leonard out with an ankle injury suffered on Sunday, the Spurs' chances going into Game 2 were slim to begin with. Kevin Durant and Steph Curry were second team selections while Green was a third-teamer. Gregg Popovich's fiery comments and a 36-point Game 2 loss did little to calm Spurs fans' minds.

"All I care about is the next game, and we'll see how they come out". "You don't want to give them any reason and any life". "We had to go take it".

Jonathon Simmons sets his new #NBAPlayoffs career-high with 22 points for the @spurs.

"It looked pretty collective to me", he said. "I think the last game it definitely worked in their advantage with me getting passive, but next game I won't do that".

"I'm like, 'This is great, I didn't have to stop for any of these red lights, '" Brown said.

The real strength of the US chairmanship was to emphasize a unified Arctic at a time where tensions were so high. But two of the questions hanging over President Donald Trump's White House were also on envoy's minds in Alaska.

"You always try to build momentum and sustain it, for sure", Curry told reporters.

"You can't sugarcoat it, or, 'If we had just made a couple shots, we would have been right there, '" he said.

Draymond Green, for one, doesn't believe the Warriors will get anything easy when they arrive in San Antonio for Saturday's Game 3. The heated Popovich called out the Warriors' Pachulia for his play on Leonard in the process.

San Antonio isnt ready to let this best-of-seven series get away as it shifts home.

Center Zaza Pachulia sustained a right heel contusion and finished with only four points, one rebound, and two assists in six minutes. Simmons hit a few baskets to keep the Spurs in the game but the pressure of the Warriors led to turnovers and open shots and after a Curry three, the Warriors led 14-6. The Warriors have beaten teams by an average of 17.0 points through the first 10 games.

"They came out with a sense of urgency from the beginning and they played that way for 48 minutes", acting Warriors coach Mike Brown said.

Warriors forward Andre Iguodala left the game with left knee soreness.

What if the Warriors continue to step on a San Antonio roster down 40 percent of its starting lineup and now showing signs it wasn't much interested in trying to stay in the fight?

"I have no idea". It's risky. It's unsportsmanlike. Both were listed as questionable to play Saturday. But the thing that worries me is that he did it again, the exact same thing. But I don't know. I don't think as a group they really did, which means probably a little bit feeling sorry for themselves psychologically, subconsciously, whatever psychobabble word you want to use. Aldridge put up just eight points in 27 minutes of work while shooting just 4-11 from the floor. After heading to the locker room at halftime, he did not return to the bench. Golden State is off to a 10-0 start in the Western Conference.
