Trump to create panel to study voter fraud, suppression

19 May 2017, 10:19 | Gladys Abbott

This order was spurred by Mr. Trump's unsubstantiated claim that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 election, thus costing him the popular vote.

President Donald Trump's move to create a commission to review alleged voter fraud in the 2016 election drew a sharp rebuke from the state's chief elections official.

The commission, which will be chaired by Mike Pence, the USA vice president, will investigate allegations of improper voting and fraudulent voter registration in states and across the nation.

More recently, Kobach has focused his attention on combating voter fraud by making it harder to register to vote and by prosecuting alleged instances of voter fraud.

Trump is signing an executive order which is created to justify his false claims of voter fraud, but his executive order has another objective, and that is to lay the groundwork for stealing the 2020 election.

"We expect the report to be complete by 2018", spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee-Sanders said.

The secretary of state championed Kansas' proof-of-citizenship requirement as an anti-fraud measure that keeps noncitizens from voting, including immigrants living in the USA illegally.

We need single-payer health care
The law allows them to set aside pre-tax cash to spend on medical care such as copays or prescription drugs. In some states - Tennessee and Iowa, for example - there are areas that risk having no insurer at all.

"With zero evidence and none provided since, [Trump has] boldly called into question the honorable work thousands of Americans do to conduct our free and fair elections", Grimes said.

Although Mr Trump won a majority of the electoral college votes that determine the victor of the presidential election under the Constitution, his Democratic opponent, Mrs Clinton, won the popular vote by three million ballots.

The commission, chaired by the vice president, will "study the registration and voting processes used in federal elections", the document said. "They are accessories after the fact to voter fraud".

Democrats and the American Civil Liberties Union criticised the commission, saying it will likely lead to more barriers for minority and low-income voters.

Sanders said that the commission will review policies and practices that enhance or undermine confidence in the integrity of federal elections, including improper registrations, improper voting, fraudulent registrations, fraudulent voting and voting suppression. They didn't vote for me.

One adviser said the group would spend about a year drafting a report that would take a comprehensive look at election issues that have preoccupied state officials for many years.

Voter fraud, of course, is extremely rare, and in the few cases that do exist, voter ID requirements are unlikely to stop it.
