Roadside Bombs Kill 11 Civilians in Afghanistan

Roadside bomb kills 11 Afghans headed to wedding, official says

Eleven members of an Afghan family were killed on Friday when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb while they were travelling to an engagement ceremony in the country's volatile east.

"The victims included five women and five children".

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attacks on Friday.

A number of police and security personnel in Afghanistan have been killed in similar incidents.

Two Taliban commanders were among those killed by Afghan forces.

Elsewhere in Afghanistan, another roadside bomb targeted a U.S. militarily convoy in northern Parwan province today.The explosion disabled an armored vehicle but caused no injuries.
