Dancing with the Stars 2017: Power Rankings - Week 8
09 May 2017, 11:30 | Anna Nguyen
It was "Trio Night" during Week 8 of Dancing with the Stars Season 24. "I went further than I ever knew I would". By the end of the evening, one celebrity will be sent home.
The semifinals are set for May 15 with the finals beginning on May 22. Who will win the coveted Mirrorball Trophy? We'll find out soon enough.
So we began with Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater doing a jive to "Shake a Tail Feather" by the Blues Brothers.
Needless to say, when it was announced that Bonner Bolton would be competing on Season 24 of Dancing With The Stars, fans were amazed by his remarkable recovery. Julianne thought it was such a fun way to kick off the night.
The pair earned a score of 39 out of 40 for their second dance, which, while lower than their first, still earned them the highest combined score of the week. Rashad, Emma, and Witney Carson choreographed an Argentine tango to "Dreams" and scored a tantalizingly close to an ideal score of 39/40.

Russia, US agree to air safety measures for Syria
By Saturday morning "relative calm" was reported in the four de-escalation zones by both government and opposition officials. Turkey and Russian Federation are deeply entangled in the war in Syria, with each country having troops on the ground there.
Kordei delivered the night's most memorable dance, a thrilling contemporary routine about breaking free from internet bullying. Julianne was completely mesmerized by the performance. Judge Bruno Tonioli noted, "No one will ever break you".
Next up come Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, fresh off a flawless score last week. "They loved that", she said about the audience. They earn a 36/40. Carrie Ann called Normani an incredible actress. Juxtaposed against the almost ideal Normani Kordei, celebrity bull rider Bonner Bolton simply isn't on the same level. "I found out how far I can push myself". She felt they used that energy where she saw some improvement. Scores of 8-7-8-7 from the judges for a total of 30.
The three performed a Jazz number to "That's What I Like" by Bruno Mars. From me, this was a little bit too. Len was particularly harsh on the duo's performance even insinuating that Bonner should have been eliminated much sooner but has only stayed due to viewer popularity. Simone Biles and Sasha Farber performed a pretty foxtrot that the judges felt was emotionally bland, and David Ross and Lindsay Arnold put on a handsome foxtrot that lacked polish. But at least Len tried to be nice this time and told Bonner he admired him for learning two full dances this week. The trio dance had a great storyline, and judge Julianne Hough said, "The concept and choreography was incredible". David Ross: 1st dance: 36 out of 40; 2nd dance: 29 out of 40; Total: 65 out of 80 The emotion of this whole journey so far swept over David this week. "We all want to be accepted", she shared. Lindsay chose the song "Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw for their waltz because she thinks the lyrics perfectly describe David's way with people. Everything feels over acted and safe, but the dance itself is well done.
Wrapping up the trio dances, the team was joined by Hayley for a Paso to "Gangsta's Paradise" by 2WEI. Carrie Ann feels like David may have put most of his strategy into his first dance.

Milone was claimed off waivers from Milwaukee on Sunday and will start Wednesday's homestand finale against San Francisco. I know it's dramatic, but I think any team in baseball would have probably reacted very similarly.
