According to a USA official, a pair of Russian bombers flew close to Alaska, they came within 35 nautical miles of the coastline.
Two Russian TU-95 Bear bombers were spotted flying about 41 miles off the coast of Alaska on Tuesday, just hours after two US F-22 fighter jets intercepted the same type of Russian aircraft in the area.
There was no bridge to bridge communication between the US and Russian aircraft on Monday, but several USA military officials told NBC News that the Russians acted "very professionally".
On Tuesday, the two Russian TU-95 Bear bombers once again flew into the Alaskan Air Defense and Identification Zone, according to two U.S. defense officials.
The U.S. jets flew beside the Russian bombers for 12 minutes before the bombers turned around and headed back to their base in eastern Russia, Fox News reported.
