Police in Covington, Ky., just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, pulled over a rented Chevrolet Suburban being driven by Broner late Wednesday, Cincinnati.com reports.

Cincinnati boxer Adrien Broner has found himself on the wrong side of the law again.

The Suburban had been shot about eight times.

According to police, Broner told them someone shot at the vehicle after following him from a bar in Cincinnati.

Broner told police someone had followed him as he left G'Moni's, a Cincinnati sports bar, and fired on him at a nearby intersection.

As they approached West McMillan Street, the suspect fired several rounds, striking his vehicle approximately eight times, according to Broner's account to police. Cops say they did find evidence of a shooting at the alleged crime scene including several shell casings.

Broner's criminal history also includes charges of robbery (2010 and 2007), aggravated robbery (2007), felonious assault (2007), gun charges (2007 and 2008), domestic violence (2008), intimidation of a witness (2008) and battery (2013).

Broner is set to appear in court April 27 in relation to Thursday's arrest. He was recently involved in a heated war of words with friend turned foe, IBF super featherweight world champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis.
