The phone is expected to be quite like the regular Samsung Galaxy S8, but will be more durable - a rough and tough device for those who are either adventurous and outgoing or quite clumsy.
After coming in behind Apple during the fourth quarter of previous year, Samsung grabbed the top spot in global smartphone market share in the first quarter of 2017, according to a reportreleased today by the Taiwan-based market research firm TrendForce. It all started out with the Galaxy S4 (no fear of misfortune) and seems to be continuing in the form of Galaxy S8 Active.
The Galaxy S8 pre-registrations debuted in India recently and the flagship smartphone was expected to be released later this month.

Samsung India has announced that their 2017 flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus will be launched in India next week on April 19, the official Twitter handle of Samsung India tweeted out on Friday.
While there is nothing much on the rugged hardware that separates it from its standard counterpart, the one notable exception is the "Active key", additional hardware button found directly above the volume buttons on the left side of the phone. Along with Samsung Pay, the new phones come with context reading virtual assistant Bixby which the company feels is better than Siri, Google Assistant and others like Cortana from Microsoft. Recently, Samsung has slashed the prices of Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in India, and they are now retailing for Rs. 5000 less than the original price. But, this is the first time that Samsung has attempted to use this technology.
New alleged leaked images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have been making rounds on the internet.
