The Galaxy Note 8 may not have the same camera as its Note 7 predecessor though, and will instead come with a dual camera setup, the first for a Samsung phone.
The price for the Samsung Galaxy S8 starts from $750, while it is a hundred bucks more expensive for Samsung Galaxy S8 plus. And along with that, we also got the new Gear 360 camera. The analyst goes as far as to call this new feature the "most important upgrade" for the handset.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus would also be available starting from May 5 with price tag of Rs 69,000, while dealers may sell it at Rs 63,900. The aspect ratio is a little different and hence the resolution as well, coming in at 1440 x 2960. The 8 MP front camera sports a sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The devices were first unveiled in the United States last month. The smartphones also come with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of onboard storage, and support 256GB expandable storage through a microSD card.
Samsung has launched the Exynos variants in India. Powering the S8 is a 3000mAh battery, whereas the S8 Plus is a slightly larger 3500mAh battery. It comes with the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
Industry watchers agree that there shouldn't be any recalls this time around, as the display glitch isn't a safety hazard and is only present on a small number of Galaxy S8 units. First is the pressure sensitive invisible home button that is baked under the display. Moreover, the smartphone also comes bundled with Samsung's own AI assistant dubbed Bixby. Both the smartphones bear the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. "The Galaxy S8 and S8+ provide heightened security and privacy, with biometric authentication, including a fingerprint scanner, iris scanning technology, and facial recognition so users can quickly and effortlessly unlock their Galaxy S8 or S8+, offering users more authentication options that can be used interchangeably", Lee explained. Other connectivity options include 4G LTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, and Global Positioning System.
