Mamadou Sakho, now on loan at Crystal Palace, saw a UEFA suspension for doping overturned past year.

Mamadou Sakho has not played for Liverpool since failing the test and moved to Palace in the January transfer window.

Sakho, who is now on loan at Crystal Palace, confirmed to Liverpool he had taken a fat burner.

The Liverpool player was given a 30-day ban following his test result on March 17, and which led to UEFA mistakenly believing that the substance Higenamine was on the prohibited list.

Not quite The Jetsons - but this flying car could be yours
Among the big questions is how to control the air traffic if there are hundreds of such vehicles zipping through the air. Before so-called flying cars become mainstream, they must overcome a host of flight safety issues to allay public fears.

But the report into the case by UEFA's Controls, Ethics and Disciplinary Body supported Sakho's contention that the substance was not on the banned list, blaming a communications breakdown between WADA and its laboratories in Cologne and Lausanne for the error.

It has emerged that the defender's sample would not have been tested positive had it been sent to a different laboratory rather than one in Germany, and that a plant extract called Higenamine was not even on Wada's banned list.

Sakho, now on loan with Crystal Palace, was given the green light to continue playing last summer but he failed to get any minutes due to a falling out with manager Jurgen Klopp.

"Therefore, in early August 2016, WADA requested its network of accredited laboratories to implement systematic testing for higenamine; although, it is clear that some laboratories already conducted routine testing for higenamine before this date".
