Raul Labrador faces angry crowd at town hall

U.S. Rep. Raul Labrador faced jeers from a combative crowd when he said that he does not believe there's any evidence of criminality inside President Donald Trump's tax returns. It seats roughly 1,200 people, which remained almost full throughout the entire event. The town hall was the first event of its kind to be held this year among Idaho's all-Republican congressional delegation.

Labrador answered questions about everything from Planned Parenthood to public lands. "I just don't think it's a right to have health care".

The town hall was supposed to go for an hour and a half - the congressman took questions for more than three hours. The next one will be held held at Mission Aviation Fellowship in Nampa on April 24; it also starts in the evening at 6:30 p.m. Members of the audience waved signs and shouted "Do your job" during the event.

The crowd used red and green cards to let Rep. Labrador know when they agreed with him, and when they did not.

At one point Wednesday night, an audience member said he wasn't a paid protester, to which Labrador replied it didn't matter because it was the audience's right to be there.

Though he would not call on Trump to release his tax returns, Labrador did tell the crowd that the President's time spent at Mar-A-Lago presents costs and transparency issues, according to the Idaho Statesman.

One woman at the town hall asked Labrador how he could back Trump after he was caught on video mocking a disabled reporter during the 2016 presidential election.

Labrador pointed out that Trump was not his first choice for president.

Labrador, who has been in office since 2010, was jeered when he responded to a question about healthcare, according to the Associated Press.

The town hall lasted more than two hours.
