Jimmy Walker has felt tired and dealt with flu-like symptoms since Thanksgiving

PGA Champion Jimmy Walker said he has felt tired since around Thanksgiving.

Walker won the PGA Championship previous year, his first career victory in a major.

Jimmy Walker announced he's been dealing with Lyme disease since last November, but still plans to give it a go at this week's Valero Texas Open.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks. Symptoms include fever, headaches and fatigue and can affect joints and the nervous system if left untreated. Sometimes they are not, like on Tuesday when Jimmy Walker revealed that he has Lyme Disease.

"My health is OK, I've just been very exhausted and worn out", Walker said, via the PGA Tour's official website. "And it comes and goes in waves". It just hasn't been real fun.

The tweet storm came after Walker announced Wednesday how he finally found out what was wrong with him since Thanksgiving, when the golfer first felt worn out and a loss of strength. We've been talking to a lot of doctors and I think that was more of what was going on as opposed to the mono. "... Anybody knows me, rest isn't something I'm really good at doing".

"Been talking to some doctors, trying to figure out the course of action to take and get on some meds to get it going in the right direction".

Walker will still play in the Valero Texas Open, a tournament he won in 2016. "I'm not beging treated yet".
