Trump Admin Threatens To Withdraw From UN Human Rights Council
Under former President George W. Bush, the USA never participated in council debates, but former President Barack Obama believed it was important for the country to engage with the group.
"The United States will not participate in discussions under Agenda Item 7 at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, other than to vote against the outrageous, one-sided, anti-Israel resolutions", Haley said, referring to agenda item regarding Israel and the Palestinian territories.
The U.S. was on the council for six of Obama's eight years in office.
One item in particular, the "Human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories", is "yet another reminder of that body's long-standing bias against Israel", State Department spokesman Mark Toner said.
Unlike the previous administration in its closing days, the Trump administration will vote against "every resolution" targeting Israel and encourage our allies to follow suit. "No other nation has an entire agenda item dedicated to it at the council", it continued.
What To Expect Once iPad Mini 5 Becomes Available In The Market
The device was originally reported to be launched in May or June, but the company has reportedly " moved ahead the production ". If the 9.7-inch iPad Pro is essentially only getting a price cut, then a press release as early as next week would be fitting.
The US says it opposes the UN Human Rights Council debate today on human rights violations in the West Bank.
In an interview with Fox News' "America's Newsroom" Friday, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley reiterated that the administration intends to take a hard stance with the U.N. against anti-Israel bias.
Another concern for the U.S.is the makeup of the 47-member council - which includes countries with poor human rights records, such as China, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. "We've wasted enough time and money on it".
Citing the council's anti-Israel bias, the United States has chose to boycott the meeting and intends to vote against any decision that may be reached.
The Trump administration will not attend a meeting of the United Nation's Human Rights Council as the group prepares to push through at least five anti-Israel resolutions, The Washington Free Beacon is reporting.
