Android O, Aka Oreo Rumored To Support Picture-In-Picture, Overhauled Notifications, Adaptive App Icons

Companies don't fix bugs by downgrading a device's software, they do it by sending out newer patches to deal with the problems brought upon by their own updates. These will also probably be the first devices to ship with Google's upcoming Android O operating system. Apparently, Google intends to introduce quite a few changes to the Android O notification system, including icons for notifications themselves.

Here are some of the expected features of Android 8.0, according to the report.

However, there is also the possibility that Google may want to bring a tablet to the market, given the huge size difference between the codenames.

Bookies slash odds of snap General Election being called in early May
Why an early election now? " It's just 2/1 [if] one is called before the end of the year ", a Ladbrokes spokesperson added. He added: "There is no change in our position on an early general election, that there isn't going to be one".

Nothing more is known about the new device called Taimen, but now that the name has been leaked, we look forward to similar leaks coming our way. It appears that Android O is going to have the ability to sync across all devices, which would really be nice.

The final build of Android O is expected to made available a few months later, possibly in August. Picture-in-picture is another big feature rumored to come with the next version of Android.

This is something that Apple has already put out there back in iOS 9, so it would be nice if Google caught up to Apple and finally put picture-in-picture mode out there. Google might push this feature to Android tablets, but with phablets as big as the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+, picture-in-picture might make a useful addition on smartphones too. This feature would remember what you did last without messing with all of the text handles. Picture-in-picture allows you to display a pinned window in the corner of the screen, while allowing a user to continue consuming media content in the original window. Improvements to various APIs will also be included in this update, as well as the ability to have low-powered background apps. The benefit here is that users are presented more relevant info in some cases, such as with the Calendar app-rather than display a 31 all of the time, with support for dynamic icons, it can change and display the current the date. We need to wait for Google to announce the same with the Android O to know what exactly will be new in the next iteration of the platform. Less than 3 percent of all Android devices have Nougat installed as of right now.
